“Saw oceanic manta, humpback and calf in bay, hundreds of hammerheads and white tips. Occasional tiger, silkey, and Galapagos. Really enjoyed underwater topography with massive boulders and underwater mountains” – Eugene Link, USA
Right from our first day at Cocos Island we were encountering tiger sharks and hammerheads, including some schools of hammers out in the blue. On day 2 we spent the entire dive at Dirty Rock, from start to finish, being circled by a curious whale shark! It was just an amazing, practically indescribable experience.
Afternoon dives a Pajara showed us the macro life that Cocos Island has to offer, including a seahorse. Schooling hammerheads were the draw at Alcyone, as well as large congregations of resting whitetip reef sharks.
At Submerged Rock we saw whitetips moving in and out of the swim through, and marble rays. Day 4 at Small Dos Amigos we saw Galapagos shark cleaning station activity and some hammerheads, but the highlight came at the end when we saw another whale shark toward the surface!
Tiger sharks were most prevalent in Manuelita Channel. We also had good hammerhead cleaning station action there and at one point we saw 9-10 eagle rays in a school. We returned back to mainland with smiles on our faces, and so many wonderful memories!
It was a wonderful trip with a lot of action under water. WE had amazing dives with a lot of shark action. dirty Rock and small dos amigos were on fire. The crew is wonderful, bryan and Diego were great diveguides and made our experiences unforgetable. WE cant wait to come back. There is no better place for us worldwide for diving thanks for another wonderful trip.
Chako as well did an amazing job. As well Brayan as a divemaster does an amazing job. Olman was always there driving the skiff safe and helpfull all the time. diego was perfect as well-guiding safe and showing lots of stuff. Amazing crew!
