First of all I would like to thank the whole staff of the undersea hunter for making this trip so incredible. I absolutely loved every second of it. The staff was extremely friendly, helpful and always ready for a joke as well. Especially the divemasters (Geovanny, Roy, Hector and Danielle) did a great job, assisting the divers getting ready on the skiffs and trying to find the amazing animals for us underwater. Every dive was absolutely incredible thanks to them. — Annika, Zurich Switzerland
This expedition we had aboard divers from England, Switzerland, the USA, Costa Rica and Holland. The crossing was a bit choppy about halfway through, but totally worth it because conditions at the island were marvelous when we arrived!
Our check out dive was great and we saw all kinds of reef fish, eels, whitetips and marble rays. The next dive out came the hammerheads, and in the middle of the channel we ran into a school of 50+ hammerhead sharks and at the same moment a tiger shark passed right by. There were marble rays and eagle rays all around.
Dirty Rock was the star dive site this week, where we saw near-constant hammerheads at the cleaning station and schools of 50-100+ individuals out in the blue. One of the bets dives of the week took place there, with eagle rays and hammerheads entering and leaving the cleaning station for a solid 30 minutes super close to us! At the end we found ourselves lost in a massive school of jacks followed by a school of hammerheads. Wow.
We saw pregnant galapagos sharks at Punta Maria, as well as lots of whitetips – including one that looked about ready to mate. Alcyone gave us sightings with hammerheads, blacktips and tuna on the hunt as well as tiger sharks and a huge school of hammerheads out in the blue during our safety stop!
At Dos Amigos Grande we saw a giant Pacific manta ray swimming about. There were plenty of tiger sharks all around Manuelita, as well as hammerheads and frogfish. All in all it was just a spectacular week of diving Cocos Island, Costa Rica!
Amazing close-ups at cleaningstations with hammerheads tigersharks, giant manta, galapagos, dolphins. Dirty rock, manuelita by far my favorites. Staff super friendly & attentive. All staff make you feel special even after so many trips. Facilities & boat are clean and all in good condition
Great variety of sea life. Never a dive without at least a white tip shark. Hammer heads all around. Tiger shark and rays great!! Sun. Rain. Smooth seas. Rough seas. Crew great. Divers great. Great experience.
