We’re just back from another phenomenal voyage to Cocos Island! Written text really can’t do the trip justice…click below and above to watch some videos, and check out these photos taken by some of our very talented divers!
Trip recap:
Day 1 was relatively calm, with some hammerheads during our first few dives. The island was just getting warmed up! By Day 2, we encountered dolphins at the surface in Punta Maria; and at Dirty Rock we observed hammerheads at the station cleaning themselves and coming in very close to us. Later, at the Coral Garden, we found some bright orange frogfish! Dirty Rock gave us encounters with hammerheads out in the blue, as well as a MASSIVE school of jacks. Alcyone was the star dive site this journey, and we had hammerheads streaming into the cleaning station to be cleaned as well as gigantic schools of them out in the blue. We also observed Galapagos sharks and silkies there. Day 4 we went to Small Dos Amigos, where we spotted at least 30 Galapagos sharks at the cleaning station!! Day 5 we had more dolphins at Punta Maria, as well as hammerheads out in the blue (and a glorious harlequin shrimp at Ulloa!). Day 6 there were so many hammerheads at Dirty Rock and Alcyone, plus Galapagos, silkies, dolphins and mantas.
Out of this world diving experience. Saw lots of hammerheads, silkie and galapagos sharks. Also tiger sharks, rays and frog fish and many other colourful types of fish. Favorite dive sites were Dirty Rock, Manuelita Channel and Alcyone, but they were all great experiences. Undersea Hunter is a great boat, very stable and comfortable. The crew are fantastic and make sure you have a safe and great experience. The food is very tasty and caters for every dietry need, the chefs do a great job. The dive crews are very knowledgable and make sure to point out all the interesting marine life so you get the best experience
We enjoyed especially Dirty Rock and Manuelita Channel and Outside. The current conditions were quite crazy. We had an amazing dive group and Hector and Diego were awsome diveguids. We had awsome encounters with hammerheads,, Galapagos, tigers. So very happy with the diving and with the safety, Thanks a lot Hector and Diego for taking care of our group and showing us the underwater world of Cocos. The whole crew did an amazing job. The food was delicious. Very cool that there is a coffeemachine on the boat. Manuel is a great cruise director you feel that he is there with his heart taking care about all wishes and demands. And the entertainment he does is just fantastic, especially the storytelling about the history of cocos.
Very good safety standards. Guides did an ecxellent job in explaining how to encounter with sharks best. They gave a lot of fredom to the group. I liked it a lot! Many thanks!! All was very good, friendly, clean, etc. Manuel is a great entertainer. Well done Team.
Overall very well run operation on the boat.
