We departed for Cocos Island around under calm, almost summertime seas. The crossing stayed smooth the whole way and we arrived to cloudy skies and excitement for the week ahead. Our first dives brought an unusual, shifting current and lower visibility, but even so we enjoyed encounters with several hammerheads, a Galapagos shark, and a graceful manta ray. It was a promising start and spirits were high for what was to come.
The second day delivered exactly what we hoped for: a fantastic dive at Dirty Rock with dolphins weaving around us for nearly the entire dive, schools of fish building into what felt like the start of a baitball, and plenty of hammerhead action! Guests were thrilled, and the mood on board grew even more excited.
On day 3 we enjoyed solid hammerhead cleaning action, along with an eagle ray gliding past and large, swirling schools of big-eyed jacks. Alcyone was calm, with hammerheads moving through the blue, and Manuelita produced plenty more sharks. Even our afternoon at Viking Rock offered close hammerhead passes that everyone loved.
Day 4 kept the momentum going with fun dives and good shark life, including silvertips, Galapagos sharks, and more hammerheads. By day 5 we encountered huge schools of hammerheads, plus many Galapagos sharks moving through the site. The visibility had begun to drop, but the sheer quantity of sharks kept everyone’s energy high.
On the 6th day we enjoyed several shark-packed dives. We also took advantage of the good afternoon weather for a land excursion, visiting Chatham Bay and the lookout point, which is always a highlight of the week.
Our 7th and final diving day started out strong with two excellent morning dives full of hammerheads and great cleaning-station activity. The last dive was quiet but peaceful, a lovely way to decompress before departure!
What an absolute blast! I would have to say my best dive was when a Manta stayed with us from the middle of our dive to when we surfaced. But each dive had its peak that’s for sure! All staff on the ship were great. Our dive master Louis and Fernando were fantastic. Always felt safe with one in front and one behind.
The dive sites are world class, with Dirty Rock and Small Dos Amigos as favorites. Unforgettable experiences with the wall of hammerheads, Galapagos sharks, dolphins and mantas. The team is extremely knowledgeable about the sites. Very safe with 2 divemasters per group. Thank you Luis and Fernando for unforgettable memories.
The diving experience was really good with hammerheads on all dives except the last one. In that regard, it exceeded my expectations. The underwater life is exceedingly rich and the coral very well preserved making it a real pleasure to dive there. I really enjoyed the focus on safety displayed by the entire crew at any given time. The crew overall (diving and non-diving) was friendly, polite and always ready to help. Kudos to Ian, Hector and the skiff drivers (yellow team). I always felt safe and surrounded by professionals who knew the sites and made the right decisions. Excellent kitchen crew (Chef Chico, Elba and Pollito). The ship and its facilities are clean and well maintained which is greatly appreciated.
Very well organized. Thank you particularly to Ian, always amazing, to Fernando as a wonderful DM and to the Chief.
Excellent DM (Ian and Hector): very safe and experimented, knowing sites very well, great ambiance on the boat, etc.). Each dive was an amazing moment. Every member of the team was great (kitchen, service, boat crew, housekeeping). A special thank to Ian the cruise director who did a great job during the whole week 🙏
Your Content Goes Here
