Sea Hunter
We set sail from Puntarenas on October 22, 2025, around three in the afternoon, under calm skies and a smooth start to the crossing. Although the crossing was a bit choppy at times, we arrived early on the 24th, in good spirits and ready to dive. The water showed a deep, clear blue typical of this season, with solid variety of underwater life. Hammerheads, silver tips, marbled rays, mobulas, and eagle rays all made appearances.
As the week went on, conditions got better and better. The currents began to bring in more life, and each day added new highlights: mantas gliding through the blue, Galapagos sharks circling close, and hammerheads coming into the cleaning stations (especially at Manuelita and Dirty Rock).
Dirty Rock and Dos Amigos Pequeño were the stars of the trip, with the largest schools of hammerheads, Galapagos sharks, and bigeye jacks swirling around the rocks. Dos Amigos Pequeño gave us some of the most memorable moments—manta rays passing over the divers, hammerheads at arm’s length, and even a graceful whale shark making several passes around the rock! Porites Bay (normally known for silvertips) surprised everyone with an incredible number of Galapagos sharks this time.Tiger sharks were also sighted there later in the week, adding the perfect finishing touch.
By the final days of the expedition, the diving became spectacular – vibrant blue water, active cleaning stations, and plenty of big life. We enjoyed close encounters with hammerheads, mantas, Galapagos sharks, and schools of tuna moving through the blue. After a week filled with excitement, laughter, and great energy on board, everyone returned to the mainland with wonderful memories of Cocos Island at its finest!
The diving was incredible. Juan Manuel & Luis were excellent guides. We were fortunate to see many shark species including hammerheads, Galapagos, silver tips, white tips, black tips as well as a whale shark. We were lucky enough to see a frogfish! Large schools of jacks were also a highlight. Marble rays, eagle rays & a few manta rays as well as many mobulas breaching from the boat. The staff was unforgettable. Service was excellent. We had everything we needed & wanted. Truly a 5 star crew. The hot water for rinsing after the dives quite a treat! A spectacular trip overall!
10/10! By far, the most safe and secure diving operation I’ve ever experienced. 2 DMs for each group makes us all feel so confident in being able to pay attention to the beautiful wildlife.
It was a great experience with a lot of underwater life. It was also nice to have two dive masters with one always watching the back and checking if everyone was ok. You can dive with different air consumption and on different depths through that. A clean ship, great and nice staff and everything you needed was provided
What’s great – fantastic divemasters Juan Manual and Luis were superb – they never stopped looking for exciting creatures yet were very detailed and vigilant about safety. Skiff captain Rafa always went the extra mile to show us the sights and even corralled dolphins which then swam with the divers.
Cruise director Ian was also very warm, attentive and detailed.
Loved the welcome party and birthday celebrations (even underwater!) which the crew put together!
Ian was very present in every moment and managed the crew and the divers in a great and outstanding way. Also the entire crew was super friendly. Specially Juan Manuel, Pollito and la negra.
Amazing dives in Los dos amigos, dirty rock and alcyone! So many hammerhead shark it is impossible to count.
We were lucky with the whale shark and dolphins ! A special thank to Juan Manuel and Luis who are probably the best 2 divemasters in the world: they really know what they are doing, they now the dive sites so well, very good energy, so much fun. Rafa aka el burro is a very good boat driver Many thanks to Ian also for the direction of the cruise: very clear explanation and open to discussion The staff in general was great
Amazing dives, we enjoyed so much our dives with Juan Manuel and Luis, they are amazing, so enthusiastic and eager to share their experience. We saw so many hammerheads, a few mantas and… a whale shark and dolfins!! We had a great experience overall, the staff is great, super nice. Rafa, our skiff driver was super nice, loved to hear his stories! Pollito was really helpful and nice. Also loves the after dives snacks and fresh fruits!
This was the most amazing trip to date. The crew, food, diving and boat are top notch. This is the safest dive operation I have been with as well. Having two dive masters is amazing you don’t have to worry about your air consumption NDL you don’t have to worry about losing divers in the strong current and you always have someone keeping an eye on the back and the front of the crew, which makes it very easy to have different divers and different skill levels.
