Sea Hunter

This was the last trip of 2022! The crossing to Cocos was perfect and calm, and the sun was shining to match our happy moods

During our first day at the island we had a phenomenal check out dive when a big tiger shark came in close to welcome us. Definitely a good omen of things to come.

Our dives at Manuelita Island started out a bit quiet, but we saw a Galapagos shark, 1 tiger shark patrolling the rock and a sea turtle. The next day we had fantastic dives at Punta Maria, with solid visibility and some hammerheads in shallower waters, two Galapagos in the cleaning station and around the pinnacle. Our dives at Dirty Rock were excellent – the cleaning station was very active with hammerheads, and to top it off we saw a school of around 100+ hammerheads out in the blue.

Submerged Rock was positively full of life, including a school of jacks and a group of friendly dolphins that surprised us in middle waters. On afternoon dives at Pajara and Viking Rock we saw lots of macro life including seahorses and the occasional Galapagos or tiger shark patrolling the area.

Alcyone was on fire, with no current and absolutely pristine visibility. There we saw hammerheads using the cleaning station, yellowfin tunas alongside Galapagos and blacktip sharks hunting. Our fourth day Small Dos Amigos was busy with lots of Galapagos, hammerheads and blacktips. Day 5 we went back to Small Dos Amigos and saw more Galapagos and hammerheads using the cleaning stations;

Day 6 we had an unforgettable encounter with a big fat tiger shark at Manuelita Outside that hung out with us for several minutes. Alcyone gave us an encounter with a playful dolphin that came to keep us company at the safety stop. On Day 7 (our last day!) Dirty Rock was brimming with hammerheads and Galapagos sharks swimming in close to us. What a perfect trip to wrap up the year! We can’t wait to see what 2023 brings. Pura vida!

Best time ever!!! We loved small dos amigos and alcyone. Amazing dive spots and dive masters, always trying to get the best from every site. Amazing food and crew. They definetely made the trip much better!
