Sea Hunter
We’re just back from another trip to Cocos Island!

Our crossing to Cocos was smooth — the sun was shining and sea conditions were relatively calm.
Day 1: Manuelita was a bit slow in terms of hammerheads, but the island compensated for that with a whale shark sighting at the first cleaning station – as well as an eagle ray, 2 marbled rays and a sea turtle!
Day 2: We explored Dirty Rock and Punta Maria. Punta Maria had lots of life around the pinnacle and a small group of 12 hammerheads into the blue.
Day 3: We visited Submerged Rock where we saw lots of species of fish and many whitetips. Our dive in Alcyone was quiet, and we saw some moray and zebra eels there. That afternoon at Viking Rock we had an encounter with a dolphin and lots of reef species.

Day 4: Small Dos Amigos was quiet, with a few Galapagos sharks – however, the best part came during the drift when we saw a group of 15+ hammerheads and a dolphin. Big Dos Amigos was fantastic. There was a lot of surge, but the arch was bursting with life – including schools of snappers, jacks, barberfish, eagle rays and a GIANT manta that got super close to our group!
On Day 5, we had a quiet dive at Dirty Rock and Punta Maria, but there was a thermocline at 90ft. Some hammerheads were using the cleaning station at Dirty Rock. In the afternoon, we visited Wafar Bay for a short hike.

Day 6: Our dive at Alcyone was super relaxing with no current, a few sharks in middle water and some yellowfin tuna (plus a massive school of jacks). Submerged Rock was colorful, with lots of fish and reef species – however, our favorite part was when a group of 6 dolphins came to play with us during the safety stop!
On Day 7, we had chill dives at Dirty Rock and Manuelita where we saw hammerheads, lots of bluefin trevally, and two frogfish.
We had an easy crossing back to Puntarenas, with a boat full of happy divers!

Whale shark, hammerheads, eels, lobster. Dive staff and Capitan Balin focused first on safety, next on amazing dive experiences. We havw gone diving worldwide and Sea Hunter is one of the best! Entire Sea Hunter experience was first class! Staff focused on safety and then on having a great time! Food was amazing and varied. Brayan coordinated boat and dive activities so well. Staff clearly well organized and supporting each other; El Capitan even did dishes. What a great team! Sea Hunter is a great operation. A lot of thought and attention has clearly been made. Team is highly motivated and focused on safety. Very impressed.
Baby hammerhead, hammerheads, colorful fish, eagle rays, sharks. Staff is super helpful and friendly. Very hardworking. Food was over plentiful and delicious. Cabins had lots of storage and were comfortable.
Dirty Rock rocked! Crew great!
Dirty Rock had great large life, Coral Gardens had great structure and small life. The Arch was quite fun. All in all, great sharks, rays, frogfish, massive schools. Stellar! Staff were attentive and cheerful. Food was good.
