Sea Hunter

Our 1st day at Cocos Island we encountered Galapagos sharks, turtles, blacktip sharks, and a school of jacks at Manuelita Outside. Our second-day dive plan took us to Dirty Rock. Powerful currents prevailed, and we observed a few hammerheads, Galapagos sharks, and a school of jacks being pushed by the currents. The dive at Punta Maria was good, also with strong currents, and there we observed a Galapagos shark and a plethora of fishes surrounding the pinnacle. Our afternoon dive at Manuelita Coral Garden was very relaxing and perfect for observing macro life — there were moray eels, flounders, garden eels, and a good number of whitetips. We also could hear the distant sounds of dolphins throughout our dive.

On day 3, we experienced fierce conditions at Manuelita Outside. Big eye jacks clung to the rock, but there were no sharks. Later, we spotted a school of hammerhead sharks in the blue at Alycone and a silvertip on our afternoon dive. On the 4th day, we returned to Punta Maria where we saw a couple of Galapagos sharks from a distance, two turtles, and many fish around the pinnacle. Our second dive took us back to Dirty Rock where we battled strong currents and saw hammerheads, a massive school of jacks near the rock, and an eagle ray. Highlights on our afternoon dive at Pajara included a yellow baby frogfish, numerous lobsters, eels, and a wide variety of fish.

On our dive for our 5th day at Manuelita Coral Garden, we were happy to find whitetip reef sharks hunting, as well as a turtle, a frogfish, and an abundance of other fish species. Day six at Alcyone, we observed an idyllic school of about 10+ hammerhead sharks in the open blue. Our dive at Submerged Rock was equally serene, with many whitetips and black jacks seen in the swim-through. Our afternoon dive at Manuelita Channel presented us with a turtle, a frogfish, and a significant quantity of other fish species.
On our final day, we dove at Dirty Rock, where we saw some hammerheads using the cleaning station and four playful dolphins around the pinnacle. We wrapped up our adventure at Alcyone, where we had the privilege of witnessing a big school of hammerheads in the blue. This encounter added the perfect finishing touch to an extraordinary trip!

Alcyone has been an absolute delight to dive. While challenging due to the surface conditions, the experience of our skiff driver and dive master made for a secure and deeply enjoyable dive. Also enjoyable was the more shallow and relaxing dives around Manuelita, allowing us to decompress from the adventures of the morning. Staff is always smiling, ready and happy to accomodate any request. The food was amazing and varied which added to a complete package of high quality vacation for my wife and I. Special thanks to the chef and kitchen crew for ensuring that my wife’s numerous allergies were accounted for, she had no issues whatsoever. The dive deck is spacious, top quality camera area with numerous outlets and dedicated spaces to store your cases and other equipment. Highly recommend!
Great service on board and very friendly staff/crew. Food is just amazing regarding variety and quality ! Dive masters doing very good job and professional. Dive master welcomed inputs. Good job ! The ship is very good and clean… Room were very clean ! The skiff drivers were very good safe boot ride, and very professional, whole staff on board of the skiff, on board of the boat very helpful, and had always a look on someone who needed help.
First let me say the crew and dive masters were the most professional I’ve ever been diving with. They were knowledgable, customer focused, and always put safety first. I enjoyed every dive site with the variety of conditions, creatures, and the surprise appearance of hammerheads, galapagos, rays, etc. The Sea Hunter is a well appointed and comfortable boat, and as mentioned the staff were excellent. Attention to our comfort and enjoyment was appreciated. Food was great.
Alcyone and Dirty Rock were the best of the trip, hammerheads! Crew/DM’s were outstanding and made our trip! Despite poor viz, rough surface conditions, the crew made every effort to ensure we made it to most sites while balancing our safety. It was extremely evident how hard the DM’s (and panga drivers) worked to find the sharks, navigate the conditions and maximize our experience…Food was really good, good snacks, liked that beer is included as ensured the guests hung out for happy hour nightly. Very lucky that we had a really good group of divers!
El barco, el camarote, la comida y, sobre todo la profesional tripulacion, hacen del viaje en el Sea Hunter una experiencia 5 estrellas. VOLVERE 100%
