Sea Hunter
Our first day at Cocos brought promising hammerhead activity. Visibility was low and the swell was strong, so even though there were many hammerheads around us, they were difficult to see. Still, it was an exciting start to the trip and set the tone for what we hoped would be a shark-filled week.
By day 2, conditions were vastly improved! The water cleared up and the current eased, allowing us to fully experience Cocos at its best. We saw lots of hammerheads, plus Galapagos and silvertip sharks throughout the day. The energy on the boat was high, and everyone was hopeful that this trend would continue.
On the third day there was a lot of activity in the water, including hammerheads, several other species of sharks, marbled rays, eagle rays, and even some fish spawning behavior. It was a fascinating and rewarding day of diving.
Days four, five and six brought strong wildlife sightings once again. We saw large groups of hammerheads and Galapagos sharks, a dolphin, silvertips and a tiger shark.
On one afternoon dive we saw black groupers fertilizing eggs while whitetips swam through the cloud of sperm – a wild scene.
Alycone was shark paradise, and on one dive we had hammerheads visible at all times! Plus 15+ or more Galapagos sharks swimming among them at the cleaning station. Hammerheads cruised above and beside the group, and two oceanic blacktips and two silky sharks were seen near the surface. A dense school of hammerheads in the blue capped off this world class dive.
One of our favorite dives at Porites involved 35 minutes with at least nine silvertips of various sizes. A large male with a bite on his back and a huge pregnant female stood out. A devil ray and a group of 10–12 yellowfin tuna, including a massive one, were also seen. What a fantastic afternoon dive!
Our seventh and final day of diving turned out to be one of the best of the trip. We enjoyed outstanding hammerhead activity, several eagle rays, a manta, Galapagos sharks, oceanic blacktips, a silky shark, another dolphin, and even frogfish. It was an incredible way to end the week, with all the magic of Cocos on full display
I love the luck we had with relaxed schools of Hammerheads and lots of other sharks. My favorite sites where Dirty Rock, Alcyone and Manuelita outside. Well guided dives! Brilliant staff on all levels. I could tell that everyone was working well together, regardless of rank. The food was very good, varied and plentiful. I was here 4 years ago and I think the boat could do with a bit of TLC to get the 5 stars.
Special thank to the DM Roberto, Fernando and Ian. The did an excellent job.
And of course the cabin staff.
Special thanks to the chef, who supplied us with the best food on board ever. Gratulation !!
Last but not least the capitan and Ian the tour director. Keep holding the highest level of diving tours

The crew is very helpful and friendly, the dive masters very competent, the food is excellent.
My favorite site and experiences were at Dirty Rock, what an amazing place!! So many hammerheads and fish, and also finding yourself literally in the school of sharks in the blue is absolutely the best time! Top notch team from booking with Lucia and Carlos, great services and food on board during the trip. Hector, Ian and Roberto took great care of the Yellow team in the water and Captain Raul and a Juan Carlos always right there to pica us up with the skiff is always comforting to know they’ll be there when we are done our fun.
